frustration

Well here are some pics.

today we were not able to do much again, we went to Tsani Grande and tried to minister to the kids but tha just wanted to mes with us, so we talked to the director and left. I think it would be a lot easier to minister to kids if we were girls.

not much done

Today we didn't get very much accomplished. We were supposed to go to Hytro Central to have a bible study with pastor Juan and some of the villagers but our taxi driver didn't show, and when we look for another one there was only one taxi. So I took a nap because I have not been feeling good for the past few days and Jorge went and talk to Theo, the blind guy at the internet cafe. He apparently had a very good conversation with him about the trinity. This weekend was the anniversary of Lampa so there were some parades and contests...and a lot of drunk people. I hope tomorrow will be more productive.

Too busy to write

Sorry I haven't been updating verymuch, we've been really busy. The creative ministry team was in town and they helped alot. We got so maythings started in Lampa while they were here. We strated a church in senor Mendez's building, we started playing musi in the plaza, and we really got the kids of canteria involved. Whe we went there we played some foot ball and did some songs then Tommy, the leader of the CMT, gave a sermon. He asked who wanted to follow Jesus and they all raised their hands. It was really awesome. I thank you for all your prayers. Jorge has a more extensive explonation of what happened this past week. please refer to his for more details.

I'm no preist

Today Jorge, Lenny, Leo and I went to Canteria to do a bible study with the women of the village. That was short lived tho, because come to find out we were not supposed to be there until 11:00 and we got there at 10:00. Later on we went to Tsani Chico to show the passion of the christ film. We gave some bibles to the director and we met some of the women in the village. After the movie was over Jorge had a short sermon about how Christ was risen from the grave. They asked me to pray, so I did, then this lady came to me and asked me to pray for her health and Jorge tried to explain to her that I'm not a preist bit she didn't understand. So I prayed for her and then she kissed my hand. Then we left for Juliaca to get some good food. We ate at this really good Chifa place and I had about 45 people stare at me. Today Jorge and I got to really know Lenny and Leo (our cab driver), and they seemed to be really cool. They're both into racing and music which is pretty much all me. That's about it for today, comeback tomorrow for more!

A new day

Today Jorge and I took a trio to Hytro Central to speak to pastor Juan. I like the village a lot. The only thing I didn't like was the kids throwing rocks at me and shining mirrors in my face the whole time. Pastor Juan was very excited about us going to the village, he thinks that we will bring more intrest to the chirch. So far he has done a good job keeping his congregation but recently it has been struggling. Tomorrow we are planning on going to look for some American food in Juiaca...which is prolly gonna fail. I hope that we can find some food that won't hurt my stomach anymore. Wish us luck.

A lot in a little amount of time

Today it seems like we didn't do very much but we did. We went to 2 villages, Tsani Grande and Chico. We played a few games with the kids in Tsani Grande and I sang a few songs. Jorge told them 1Corinthians 10 where Paul says that we should all be as if we were running in a race. In Tsani Chico Jorge taught the diffrences between the Catholic Bible and our Bible, and shared his testimony with the elders in the village. After that we went to Juliaca and had luch and went grocery shopping for some real food. And in a few minutes we are going to meet with Lenny and Coach Carlos about getting a bible study started a few days a week. Speaking of which I have to go, stay tuned.

Grace

Today Jorge and I got around to 2 villages: Canteria, and Tsani Grande. I sang a song for the kids in Canteria and Jorge orginized a race and had a short sermon for the kids. Soon after we had to take Dale to the airport, which was kind of weird cause when we got there, there was no body there. So we kind of just left him there and went into Juliaca and had some Chifa (Chinese for you non-Spanish speakers). Later on we went to Tsani Grande where we showed The Passion of the Christ film and Jorge explained the movie, and I played a song. I was really nervous that the people were going to kick us out cause my singing is go bad. That's all you get today, comeback tomorrow for more!

Mark 28

Today we visited five villages, one of which was by accident, Canteria was a new village that we haven't een able to reach yet. The school principal was very excited about us coming and was very concerned about our motives there. We told him that we were not trying to change their lives but just share the gospel with them. A few other villages we visisted were ones that we visited before: Tsani Grande, Tsani Chico, Whato Central, and Lensaro. We spoke to Pastor Juan in Whato Central who is the pastor of a new church called New Jarusalem. He seemed ver excited about us coming because we would draw more attention and more interest. Another village wanted us to give them financial help, but we just explained to him why we were there. We are supposed to go back tomorrow morning to a community meeting for Tsani Grande and Tsani Chico, where I have to sing a song in spanish...which I'm kind of scared about. Well I have to go prepare. Stay tuned.

new found knowledge

Ao Jorge and I arrived in Lima just a few days ago and it was not what I expected. Lima is actually very nice. As soon as we got off the plane we had to do a scavenger hunt through the whole city of Lima... which would've been fun if we had gotten any sleep the night before. Shortly after the scavenger hunt we got on a bus and rode 2 hours to get to a camp. The camp was really insightful, we learned bout how to do a lot of things. I met some people and made some new friends, one of which was our translater Elsa, who spoke better french than english. I got to practice both my Spanish and my French, since apparently there are a lot of french speakers in Lima. Jorge and I arrived in Lampa yesterday and met SiƱor Mindez, who is a very gracious man. Lampa in my oppinoin is way better than Juliaca, which is very dirty and crime ridden. I kind of feel like a cilebrity because every time I pass a group of people they start whispering about me... especially the girls. Well I hope that everyone back home is doing fine, I wish you well. TAKE LUCK!!!
